How can I find my files after exporting on hosted apps?
Your hosted apps user profile is on our server, when you export to "downloads" that is Downloads on the server. You need to retrieve it from our server to your computer using the download icon in your bottom toolbar, to the right of the yellow shield.
I commonly have the question on HelpDesk "I've exported my files from Adviser/SoilMate on hosted apps and they say they're on my desktop but they're not, where are they!?"
The answer is simple - these files are in your own personal account on our server, so the Desktop you see there is not the one you see when you start up your computer.
To get your files from our server to your computer, you need to make sure you are first exporting to the Downloads folder on the server, then click the Download icon in the bottom toolbar to the right of the yellow shield, navigating to your file and clicking Open.
If you're not sure where you have exported to - try using the same Export function again that you used initially for your report and follow along where it goes. It's likely you will see your files on screen in front of you at the point when it's asking you to save. You can save your file again into the Downloads folder in order to retrieve it, or you can take this opportunity to copy and paste any previous exports into the Downloads folder. Just click what you had exported previously, Ctrl C, navigate to the Downloads folder on the left, Ctrl V. You can then choose to continue with your current export, or simply cancel out if you were just using that process to locate your saved location on the server. Once files are in the Downloads folder on the server, you can use the Downloads icon to the right of the yellow shield in the bottom toolbar to retrieve your files, one at a time.
If you are new to exporting from our server or would like a faster way, we suggest using the "Print to Save" function available for all items except the excel report export from SoilMate. To use this, click the Print icon on your desired report and select the 2X Universal printer on the screen when available. When the next prompt opens, you will be able to select your printer or Save as PDF. Choose Save as PDF, give your file a name and choose the desired location for saving - this is on your actual computer.
