How do I choose the correct lab test type (product)?

Selecting the right lab test

Make your selection based on

• the lab product containing all the soil characteristics you want to be measured

• ensuring the lab methods are relevant to your location, e.g. pastures in Vic use P (Olsen). In contrast, in NSW, P(Colwell) is preferred, S(KCL40) for pasture and S(MCP) for cropping. Very few analytical methods have been calibrated for all crops and pastures, so carefully selecting your lab test product is essential.
