How do I log a sample in Back Paddock Mobile Sampling App?

  1. Access Sampling: Start by tapping the  Sampling Tile on the app's main screen.
  2. Create a Sample Order: In 'Draft Orders' press the '+' icon at the top right to create a new Sample Order
  3. Purchase Order Number:  Remove the DRAFT_#_ prefix from the auto-generated number or replace it with a unique Purchase Order Number, which can include a mix of letters and numbers. Ensure it is unique to avoid any sync issues.
    • Note: Orders will be stored on the app and will not sync until the 'DRAFT_#_' has been removed from the auto-generated number or replaced with your own unique Purchase Order No.
  4. Select a Laboratory: Choose a lab from our partner lab list.
  5. Proceed with Barcodes: Tap All Barcodes to continue.
  6. Add a Barcode: Tap the '+' sign in the top right of the Purchase Order screen.
      1. Tap the barcode scanner icon to scan or manually enter the barcode number that appears on the supplied sample bag.
  7. Set Date: Keep today's date or adjust it if needed.
  8. Choose a Product Test Type: Tap 'Product' and select a product test type for the sample.
    • For a comprehensive list of the available tests from your chosen lab, click here and use your email address and password to log in.
  9. Enter Sample Depth: Fill in 'Depth From' and 'Depth To'; defaults to 0 to 10 for a surface sample.
  10. Select Sampling Pattern: Tap to choose from available options under 'Sampling Pattern'
  11. Choose Trading Name/Farm/Paddock: Tap to select Trading Name then Farm then Paddock
  12. Enable GPS: By default, GPS is on if 'Precise Location; is enabled on your Apple device. To ensure it is on,  follow these steps:
    • Go to Settings > Privacy & Security, then select Location Services.
    • Select an app, then turn Precise Location on or off.
  13. Evaluation Selection: Tap Evaluation then search the list to find a suitable listing for your crop type and location.
  14. Save and Complete: Press 'Save' at the top right to save the sample barcode details and repeat all steps from step 5  to add new barcodes for additional samples or press 'Back' on the top left to 'Save' and Complete the Purchase Order.
