Opterra: What Data Is Imported from BPAM to Opterra?

Outlining the information that is included and excluded in copying / transferring a file from legacy Back Paddock products (BPAM) to Opterra.

 

What Data Is Imported?

When you use the transition tool, the following information from your BPAM records will be imported:

Your client details and main file structure

Farms

The names and areas of your farms

Paddocks

The names and areas of your paddocks

Zones

Any splits or usage zones linked to paddocks

Seed Inputs

Records of seed use, including blends and undersowing

Seed Dress Inputs

Details about seed dressings, including names, rates, and costs

Sprays (Chemicals and Adjuvants)

Records of chemical and adjuvant applications, including names, rates, and costs

Soil Health (Fertilisers and Amendments)

Fertiliser and amendment applications, including names, rates, and costs

Operations

Records of farm operations, including names, rates, and costs

Production

Production records, including names, rates, and prices

 
 

What Data Is Not Imported?

The following information from BPAM is not imported:

Client file ownership management, existing access (sharing)

Customisation & Reports

All customisations (app style, titles, badges, custom UI, custom reports, templates, favourites), all reports and report extensions

Recommendations

All recommendations, saved mixes and favourites

Data Management

Master database (products, rates, prices), master files, operators, suppliers managed in BPAM

Diary & Quick Entries

Diary entries (including observations, media, weather, events), machinery diary, quick entries (Quick Chemicals, Quick Fertilisers, Quick Seeds)

Integration & Links

BPAM SoilMate link (lab tests and analyte associations), all third-party links with BPAM

Inventory & Structures

Chemical inventory and structure, crop price and crop structure, fertiliser inventory, fixed costs, livestock structure, quality structure

Mapping & Geometry

All mapping data, any association with BPAM or Back Paddock Web app mapping, paddock boundaries, farm maps, mapping functions (custom layers, projects)

Production & Farming Inputs

Grain, irrigation, livestock data (mobs, animals, chemicals, operations, stock, supplements, suppliers), production quality, recommendations and associated data (mixes, undersow, products, pests, application events)

Rain & Weather

Rainfall and rainfall sites

Scenarios

Scenario data and file associations

Financials

Balance, depreciation, interests, costs

 
Why Are Some Data Types Not Imported?
 

Some types of information in BPAM are not compatible with the new system, or are being redesigned for future use. Attempting to import these could cause errors or confusion. For this reason, only the data listed above is imported, and other types are left out to ensure accuracy and stability.
