Map navigation in Opterra Mobile

1. Functions via the Map

The Mapping Tool in Opterra allows you to view your paddocks on a satellite map, access paddock plans, create recommendations, and record activities directly from the map. Your boundaries are currently included in your file transition from BPAM to Opterra, and will in future be imported through Opterra web.

1.1 Opening the Mapping Tool

• Open the Opterra app.
• Select your Organisation.
• On the main screen, you will see three tiles:
  • Farm
  • Recommendation
  • Mapping
• Tap Mapping to open the map view.

Note:

• If no mapping files have been uploaded, the map will default to a view of Australia.
• If mapping files exist, the map will automatically centre on your mapped paddocks.

1.2 Viewing Paddock Plans from Map

• Tap on any paddock displayed on the map.
• A panel will appear showing the current Paddock Plan.
• Tap the plan to view or update information such as:
  • Area
  • Crop
  • Variety
  • Start Date
• Swipe up on the information panel to see full inputs and additional options. 
• Swipe down on the information panel or tap the X in the top right to close the panel, and view the map.

1.3 Create or Update Recs and Tasks

• With a paddock selected, swipe up on the information panel.
• Touch on existing entries and update Status as required to convert plans to Actuals and more.
• Additional options will become available, including:
  • Create Recommendation
    • Tap the Rec + icon
  • Modify status of inputs (eg Plan to Actual)
    • Tap into your required input, follow on-screen prompts to update.
  • Create new Tasks
    • Tap the + icon in the bottom toolbar and follow on-screen prompts.
• Swipe down on the information panel or tap the X in the top-right corner to return to the map. 

1.4 Viewing Different Years

If your paddock boundaries or have changed over time:

• Tap the Year Selector in the top-left corner of the map.
• Select the required year.
• The map will update to display the recorded paddock layout for that year.

1.5 Returning to the Main Menu

To return to the main Opterra navigation screen:

• Tap the Counter/Navigation Icon in the top-right corner.
• You will be returned to the:
  • Farm Tile
  • Recommendation Tile
  • Mapping Tile
